ABOUT ME

My name is Dave Jones and I represent Bradwell ward on Newcastle Borough Council in Staffordshire.  I live locally with my wife, who works for our local Royal Stoke Hospital and my two children who attend St Johns primary school.  I work locally, at Keele University, where I lecture in Neuroscience and run a research laboratory looking to identify novel methods of treating neurodegenerative conditions.

As a former NHS employee, I have made health and social care my focus since being elected to Newcastle Borough Council in 2016.  I currently chair the Health and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee and sit on the Healthy Staffordshire Select Committee.  Over this time I have played an active role in ensuring proper scrutiny of health and well-being across the borough.  Recently I played a key role in ensuring that decisions to close community beds at Bradwell Hospital, and defunded of NHS hearing aid for Mild to Moderate hearing loss have been referred back to the Secretary of State Health for reconsideration.

I’m passionate about my adopted home of North Staffordshire, and have always stood up for residents to ensure they get a fair deal.

Please contact me in you have any complaints or local issues and I will do my best to help.

Best wishes,

Dave
